
Fundamentals of Academic Drawing Course
About the Course
This course focuses on the foundations of drawing according to the principles of perspective. Perspective is a high, articulate visual language that describes the world in the way we experience (and see) it most accurately.
The teaching method is based on building volume—much like constructing a model—rather than on experiential, free-form “painting” approaches.
The course also creates a mental shift: moving from intuitive, observation-based drawing to analytical, structured drawing from imagination.
We will continue developing foundational skills in observational drawing through the laws of perspective, with an emphasis on still life. At the same time, we will integrate core principles from “design drawing,” which focuses on constructing forms from imagination.
About the Lecturer

Fyodor Bezobov was born in 1971 in Kyiv. In 1986, he moved with his family to Leningrad (today Saint Petersburg). In Leningrad, he studied drawing and graduated from a professional college specializing in mural painting. In September 1990, he immigrated to Israel with his family and settled in Jerusalem. In 1995, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
Between 1997 and 2003, he worked in several design studios, including C.A.G. After 2003, he continued his work as an independent designer. In 1997, he began lecturing at the Vital Center for Design, later teaching for about ten years at Shenkar College and for approximately two years at HIT – Holon Institute of Technology. He currently teaches at the Bezalel Academy and at Seminar HaKibbutzim. In addition, since 2015, he has returned to teaching at HIT.
He was a partner in the creative laboratory FAZA Design Atelier, with which he exhibited in numerous international exhibitions. In 2008, together with Vadim Koptaevsky, he expanded his artistic practice. He is married and a father of three. He has published two books: How to Draw Volume (2014) and How to Draw Space and Environment (2019).

Target Audience
The course is suitable for both beginners and students who wish to further strengthen and refine their drawing skills.
This course is considered essential for tattoo artists who lack academic drawing training or have only partial drawing experience.

Lesson 9: Sphere and fruit — shading structure and fundamentals of color
Lesson 10: Still life — light, shadow, and color

Lesson 12: Final lesson — summary and introduction to advanced topics
